Creativity Tank, a group of artists/teachers from Grand Rapids, will be leading the fun. There will be three stations to explore:
Discover Watercolor Station: Add a drop of water and other to items from the kitchen cupboard to explore the science of color mixing, and other techniques to create astonishing effects.
Discover Suminagoshi Station: What happens with a drop of ink on water? Will it sink or float? Explore the ancient Japanese art of marbling to create wondrous designs that you create on the surface of water and then transfer to paper.
Discover Papermaking Station: Water + used paper = Mushy Pulp! Create a handmade paper of your own design.
It's clean, wet fun! Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call the Library's Youth Services at 730-4200/option 4.
Children and families are invited to drop in at the Duluth Public Library's Green Room to enjoy an afternoon of discovering how water and art intersect.
