September 11 Ceremony

September 11 Ceremony

09/11/12 — Noon

Members of three color guards -- Duluth Honor Guard, Police and Fire Department -- will be present for this ceremony at the Statue of Liberty replica on the south side of the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.

Prayers, song and a moment of silence will be observed along with a rifle salute and taps.

The location was chosen because of the Statue of Liberty’s significance to New York and as a national symbol of freedom. This tribute is a solemn reminder of the lives lost on that tragic day but also a reminder of the courage and bravery exemplified by emergency responders, volunteers and American military service personnel.

The event is organized by the Northland Veterans Services Committee and the city of Duluth.

For more information please contact Durbin Keeney, with the Northland Veterans Services Committee, at 218-590-3156.
